Read the Case of Olivia’s Quest to become a Shining Star (Appendix A)
Assume you are Olivia and want to voice your values regarding the situation. What would you say? To whom? When? Where?
- Develop a brief script of what you would say. What is the primary message you are trying to convey? What outcome are you trying to achieve?
- When writing your script, assume that the person with whom you are speaking will counter your arguments/requests with rationalizations in an attempt to persuade you that you are wrong. Use the “Common Rationalizations in Response to Sexual Harassment” (Appendix B) to help you develop this script. What rationalizations do you think you would hear? What responses would you have to these rationalizations?
