Using the book Observation Skills for Effective Teaching, Seventh Edition Gary D. Borich ISBN-13-9781612056777 write 2 pages on Lens 2: Focusing on Classroom Management. Chapter 6 pages 83-106 Info to include- The classroom is arranged to meet instructional needs for both the students and teacher. The desks are separated so the students do not get distracted, but there is places for group work and cooperative learning. Mrs. Belanger’s classroom is like Figure 6.3 in the book. The rules and procedures were clearly defined the first few weeks of school, so the students are well aware of what Mrs. Belanger expects. Mrs. Belanger has a routine and communicates that with the students each day and places it on the white board so the students can reference that if they are not sure what is happening next. Classroom rules are ones such as raise hands to ask or answer questions, names are written on the board if a certain number of interactions happen between the student and teacher. Developing routines- Mrs. Belanger has a routine. The students come in to class and attendance is taking and immediately morning work materials are handed out. She does list the days activities on the board and will tell the students to look at the board to find what will be happening that day. Mrs. Belanger is appropriate in regards to incentives and consequences. When is comes to praise she is always telling the students good work and good try. She also provides clear explanation is they are incorrect. She wants the students to try first and then ask for help. She never declines to help unless they have not tried the work first. She provides rewards but works with each student so they can all earn something. Expand on these things and include them in the paper. Find things in the book in chapter 6 and reference them in this paper. Cite sources
