prompt:
There are many good reasons why governments count people. The
composition of the United States House of Representatives, for example,
changes in response to population. Public services have to be able to
expand with population growth. Much of this information in the United
States is derived from the federal census taken every 10 years. Evaluate
the importance of taking a census of population at regular intervals,
and explain how these data are used by geographers, demographers,
