Johnson according to Hugh Sidney, describes Johnson being an “animal in the jungle.” He had a natural awareness to people and that gave him the ability to analyze others. He overwhelmed others using his height and got in peoples faces to get what he wanted. This is because he felt inferior due to his insecurities dealing with people with a higher education. He gained power and command using his physical features just like how an animal in he jungle would to take dominance. Johnson would also hold meetings in places not typical for a professional would normally have meetings. Having a meeting in a swimming pool and discussing his great society proposal kept others on their toes and showed them who was in control.
