1. What type of literary form did Samuel Pepys’ use to convey his first-hand impressions of the 1666 Great Fire of London?

2. What are several key points that Locke argues in his “Essay Concerning Human Understanding”? In-text cite the text where you believe it will enhance the accuracy and credibility of your critical claims.

3. How would you describe the type or kind of writing that Addison and Steele used to convey their subject matter and topics to their audience? Who do you think were the primary (main) audiences to whom these writers focused their ideas? What does the subject and topics these writers used say about the interests and needs of their primary audiences? In-text cite at least one (or more) of the readings assigned for these two famous authors to support your arguments.
